Christie Miller Consulting Online Workshops
Terms and Conditions
Before you pay for and enrol on this Christie Miller Consulting Limited workshop, we ask that you read these terms and conditions:
1. Contract
When students (“you”, “your”) have paid for and enrolled on our workshop, Christie Miller Consulting Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”) will send you written confirmation of your enrolment by email. This will form a contract between us, which incorporates these terms and conditions.
(i) Information about workshop content is provided in the workshop listing on our website https://christiemiller.co.uk/writing-workshops (“website”) and the workshop will be delivered on https://classroom.google.com/ (“Google Classroom”) subject to circumstances beyond our control. By enrolling on our workshop, you are confirming that you have received sufficient information and have deemed the workshop suitable for you.
(ii) Once you have enrolled on the workshop and paid the workshop fee, we will send you an email to confirm your enrolment and instructions on how to gain access to the workshop via Google Classroom. The access to the workshop’s Google Classroom page and to our workshop material is for you and you alone. You agree not to allow any third party to access the workshop via your username and you agree to keep your password confidential.
(iii) We will provide instructions for the use of Google Classroom prior to the start of the workshop. We do not provide technical support for any technical faults or difficulties you may encounter while using Google Classroom. You accept that Google Classroom may occasionally be unavailable in case of Google Classroom outages. You agree that we may move the workshop to a different learning management system in the event of serious malfunction of Google Classroom in order that the workshop can continue – in this event we will notify you and provide instructions and support for the use of the alternative learning management system. We will not be responsible for interruption of service due to events beyond our control, such as but not limited to failure of telecommunications links. Any technical problems relating to your computer or other equipment and their compatibility with the Google Classroom site are your responsibility.
(iv) We reserve the right to refuse to enrol any prospective student on our workshop for any reason prior to workshop commencement. In the event we refuse enrolment, we will promptly refund the workshop fee if already paid.
2. Enrolment on Our Workshop and Access to Google Classroom
(i) Provided you pay the workshop fee in full before enrolment and comply with these terms and conditions and such other ‘housekeeping’ rules as we detail in Google Classroom to ensure the smooth running of the workshop – and unless prevented from doing so by circumstances beyond our control – we will deliver the workshop as described in the website and in Google Classroom. We reserve the right to alter personnel involved in provision of the workshop for any reason.
(ii) It is understood that the smooth running and success of the workshop depends on full and positive participation by the students. In enrolling on the workshop, you agree to participate fully and in a timely fashion – this includes undertaking to complete assignments and upload them in Google Classroom.
(iii) We will endeavour to provide feedback to any assignments submitted later than the suggested submission deadline within four business days. However, this will delay your progress on the course.
(iv) You will have access to all workshop materials for the duration of thirty five days after the release of the last module. We will provide you with feedback to any assignments submitted prior to twenty eight days after the release of the last module. After this date, we will not provide you with feedback on assignments. Each late assignment will take four business days to return with feedback, and we will return late assignments according to their module order.
(v) We require that all workshop contributors – tutors, students, and Christie Miller Consulting staff – are treated with respect.
(vi) You understand that your name, and the content you contribute to forums will be visible in Google Classroom to your tutor, and relevant Christie Miller Consulting staff.
(vii) You must not submit material, images or written content which might reasonably be deemed to be impolite, offensive or abusive or which is/are unlawful. You agree to use Google Classroom only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe the rights of any third party.
(viii) You guarantee that any material posted in Google Classroom or otherwise submitted is your own work, unless otherwise stated, and does not infringe the copyright or intellectual property rights of any third party. If you have made use of an AI tool (such as ChatGPT) in the creation of your material, you agree to disclose this information to us, with the exception of assignments that explicitly incorporate the use of an AI tool.
(ix) All written work and images submitted to us will be securely stored.
(x) We have the right (but not the obligation) to act as moderators and to remove and delete any material from Google Classroom at our discretion at any time in order to ensure the smooth running of the workshop.
(xi) We reserve the right to amend our workshop materials at any time to ensure that they are current and relevant.
(xii) We do not make a commitment that you will obtain any particular result from participation in the workshop or guarantee that you will gain entry to a university.

4. Cancellation, Withdrawal and Refunds
(i) If you wish to withdraw from the workshop, you must notify the Administrator by email at admin@christiemiller.co.uk. Your cancellation will take effect on the date the Administrator receives your email notification and acknowledges receipt.

If you submit a cancellation and refund request up to seven days after the workshop starts, we will refund you fifty percent of the fee, minus any transaction fees charged by the payment service (such as Stripe or PayPal). We will not issue any other refunds (except under the cancellation terms of the Consumer Contracts Regulations of 13 June 2014).
(iii) We reserve the right at any time to exclude you from the workshop and remove your access to Google Classroom, without refund of your fee, in the event that you breach any of these terms and conditions or if we find that you have given us information which is untrue or misleading.
(iv) We may cancel a workshop at any time prior to its start date, provided we refund fees paid by prospective students.

(iv) By providing personal information, you expressly consent to your personal information being used and processed as explained.
5. Data Protection
(i) You own the copyright and intellectual property to all of your original material. We will not attempt to assert proprietorship over any work that is produced on our workshops. All students must respect the integrity and provenance of material which is not their own and must keep confidential and private any information about other students’ original material and essay ideas which has been disclosed to them within the workshop.
(ii) Christie Miller Consulting workshops are owned by Christie Miller Consulting Limited. We will at all times remain the owner of the intellectual property in all parts of the Google Classroom page and of our website that are created by us and our contractors and employees, both public and secure areas, including but not limited to workshop materials, and our names, trademarks and logos.
(iii) We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access workshop materials and use the functionality provided by Google Classroom for the sole purpose of studying for the workshop for which you are enrolled. You may print single copies of workshop materials for your personal use in connection with a workshop only. You may not republish or make public our workshop material on the Internet or elsewhere or make any other use of our workshop material without our prior written approval.
6. Intellectual Property
You agree to pay the workshop fee in full before enrolment. The workshop fee covers all parts of the workshop. All fees are quoted in UK pounds sterling.
7. Payment
(i) Our failure to enforce a right does not result in a waiver of such a right.
(ii) If any of the provisions of these Terms and Conditions are held to be invalid or unenforceable by any court having authority to determine such issues, the remaining terms will not be affected.
(iii) These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English law and the parties hereby submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
(iv) We make no warranty or guarantee that the website, Google Classroom, workshop materials or other information provided complies with laws other than English law.
(v) This is the entire agreement between us and you. If any of our employees or the agents of Christie Miller Consulting Limited have agreed anything verbally or in writing at any time, this Agreement will always take priority.
